President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Friday applauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for what he described as remarkable development across Abuja, saying only the minister’s critics would fail to acknowledge his achievements.

Akpabio spoke while commissioning the Arterial Road N16-Ring Road III Interchange linking Jahi and Gwarimpa districts. The project forms part of activities marking President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary in office. The President was represented at the event by the Senate President.

Describing Wike as a “performing minister” and “game changer,” Akpabio said the minister had transformed both the physical landscape and administrative structure of the Federal Capital Territory.

He said Wike delivered impressive projects while serving as Rivers State governor but noted that his performance in Abuja had made it difficult to determine which office showcased his best leadership.

According to Akpabio, the FCT administration now has Permanent Secretaries and a Head of Service, reforms he said were absent under previous administrations and had improved career prospects for civil servants.

The Senate President prayed for God’s continued guidance for Wike and commended President Tinubu for supporting reforms aimed at repositioning the nation’s capital.

He maintained that ongoing infrastructure projects reflected the administration’s commitment to improving governance and public service delivery in the Federal Capital Territory.
