Support has continued to pour in for former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, as leading political figures visit him to mourn the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai.
Among those who have reached out are Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Tambuwal, and Rotimi Amaechi, each offering condolences during visits to his Abuja home.
The condolence visits followed El-Rufai’s temporary release from custody, granted to allow him attend to the final rites of his late mother, who died in Egypt after an illness.
Atiku, who led a delegation, said the visit was meant to show unity and compassion during a difficult period for the family.
He acknowledged the pain of losing a mother, describing it as a loss that cannot be replaced, and offered prayers for her peaceful rest.
Tambuwal also expressed deep sympathy, noting that the moment calls for reflection and support. He prayed for divine mercy on the deceased and strength for the family to endure the loss.
The visits highlight the show of solidarity across political lines as El-Rufai navigates both personal grief and ongoing legal challenges.
