Former Edo State governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for what he described as an outstanding performance during the recent FCT local government elections.
Oshiomhole made the remarks while overseeing the handover of 54 pieces of construction equipment to the 18 local government areas in Edo State.
Reflecting on the FCT elections, he said Wike demonstrated remarkable political strength, noting that even where his political alignment did not produce outright victory, the results underscored his influence.
“If anyone was in doubt, the FCT election made it clear. His party came second after the APC, and in some places, others did not even score up to 100 votes,” Oshiomhole stated.
He further described Wike as a trailblazer from the South-South geopolitical zone, emphasizing that he is the first from the region to serve as FCT minister in a way that has redefined urban governance and development in Abuja.
Oshiomhole also acknowledged the cordial relationship between Wike and the Edo State government, praising Governor Monday Okpebholo for maintaining strong ties with the FCT minister.
According to him, Wike’s leadership style and developmental strides have reshaped perceptions of what is possible in the administration of the nation’s capital.
