FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says he is ready to resign if anyone proves his administration’s claims on road construction in Abuja’s satellite towns are false, giving critics’ 48 hours to challenge the figures publicly.

The minister spoke on Friday during the inauguration of the reconstructed Arab/Gbazango Road in Kubwa, where he outlined the achievements of the FCT Administration under President Bola Tinubu.

Wike disclosed that contracts covering 317 kilometres of roads have been awarded in satellite towns since the current administration came into office, adding that 221 kilometres have already been completed while work continues on the remaining 96 kilometres.

He clarified that the figures relate only to satellite communities and exclude other road projects being executed across the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the minister, major projects including the Apo–Karshi Road and the Bwari–Kubwa Road will be completed before the end of the year.

Wike argued that residents of satellite towns have experienced significant improvements through the ongoing road projects, describing the development as unprecedented.

He challenged anyone with contrary evidence to appear on national television within 48 hours to prove his claims false, insisting he would resign if the figures could not be defended.

The minister also commended President Tinubu and the National Assembly for supporting the FCT Administration, saying the partnership has accelerated infrastructure development across the territory.
