In a scathing attack, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared President Bola Tinubu’s administration the worst in Nigeria’s history, blaming fiscal chaos, simultaneous budgets, and repeated policy flip-flops for plunging the nation into administrative and security turmoil.

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s national publicity secretary, said Nigeria has never witnessed such confusion, with three budgets running simultaneously and less than 30 percent of government plans implemented. He dismissed the government’s explanation that this was a strategy to complete multi-year projects.

The 30 percent of the 2025 budget currently in operation will run until November, while the remaining 70 percent has already been rolled into the 2026 budget. Abdullahi stressed that Tinubu’s promise to complete the capital components of 2024 and 2025 budgets by March 31, 2026, has not been met.

Even the Ministry of Defence, which recorded a performance of 113.45 percent due to emergency funds, has failed to contain insecurity. Reports suggest that up to 500 Nigerians may have died at the hands of terrorists in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, and Kebbi this Ramadan alone.

The ADC also accused the government of reversing at least seven appointments and several policy decisions, often immediately or after public outcry, exposing the administration’s chaotic and indecisive nature.
