President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian healthcare professionals living abroad to return home and help strengthen the country’s health sector, saying their expertise is vital to national development and the success of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking during a meeting with members of the Nigerian Diaspora Medical Associations in Abuja, the President said his own experience of returning to Nigeria after working in the United States convinced him that there is no place like home.
Tinubu urged the medical professionals to encourage more of their colleagues overseas to return and support efforts to improve healthcare delivery across the country.
He said the Federal Government remains committed to creating a better environment through reforms aimed at improving healthcare, education and economic opportunities.
The President also praised the contributions of diaspora health professionals, describing their support as crucial to building a stronger healthcare system.
He further assured Nigerians that his administration would continue working to reduce poverty and improve citizens’ welfare.
The meeting coincided with the 2026 National Diaspora Day celebration organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission.
