Minister of Works David Umahi has received the traditional title of Ngorot Ngasmwa ((Lover of Ngas) in Plateau State, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman hailed his role in advancing President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure agenda.
The traditional rulers said the honour recognises Umahi’s commitment to infrastructure development and his contribution to the implementation of road projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
Chairman of the council, His Royal Highness Nde Jika Golit, welcomed the Minister into the Ngas community, describing him as a dependable friend whose efforts have brought development to the area.
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, also commended Umahi, saying his achievements in road construction have distinguished him within the Tinubu administration. He described the Minister as the President’s “signature boy.”
Umahi, while accepting the honour, thanked the traditional rulers and praised Yilwatda’s leadership qualities. He expressed optimism that the APC chairman would help secure President Tinubu’s re election in 2027.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang described the road project as a major economic boost that would improve transportation and create opportunities for communities across Plateau State. He also praised the Minister’s performance and thanked President Tinubu for approving the project.
Former Governor Simon Bako Lalong applauded the administration’s infrastructure drive, particularly the adoption of concrete roads on major federal highways, and urged continued support for President Tinubu’s development agenda.
