Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has expressed deep concern over the recent attacks and abductions recorded in Oyo State, describing the situation as painful and alarming.
Saraki made the remarks while reacting to the kidnapping of students, teachers, and workers in separate incidents across the state within a few days.
The former Senate President specifically mentioned the attack on schools in Orire Local Government Area where gunmen reportedly abducted dozens of students and seven teachers.
He also spoke about the killing of teacher Michael Oyedokun after a video showing his plea for help surfaced online.
According to Saraki, the abduction of two workers of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria in Ibadan further reflects the growing security concerns in the state.
The former governor said the incidents should not be treated lightly, insisting that innocent children and citizens are now living in fear.
He extended condolences to families affected by the attacks and prayed for the quick release of victims still being held by kidnappers.
Saraki also appealed to the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify rescue efforts and ensure those responsible face justice.
He maintained that the rising insecurity in parts of the country demands urgent action and stronger protection for citizens.
