President Bola Tinubu has appointed Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo as Director of Air Mobilisation for the APC’s 2027 re-election campaign, assigning him responsibility for coordinating air travel and related logistics.
The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by Tunde Moshood, the minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications.
The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Olubunmi Kuku, and the Managing Director of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, Farouk Umar, were appointed deputy directors.
Kuku will serve as Deputy Director I, while Umar will serve as Deputy Director II, bringing leadership and technical experience from the aviation sector into the campaign’s operational structure.
The directorate is expected to coordinate air transportation for designated campaign officials and personnel, organise travel arrangements and support campaign activities across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
According to the statement, the team will collaborate with other campaign structures to improve scheduling, coordination and the deployment of available logistical resources.
Moshood said Keyamo’s experience overseeing the aviation sector was expected to help address the operational demands of a nationwide presidential campaign.
The statement also highlighted the roles of Kuku and Umar, noting that air transportation would be important for campaign officials required to visit several locations within compressed schedules.
It added that the directorate would operate in line with applicable aviation regulations and electoral laws as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections.
