President Bola Tinubu will join political leaders, government officials and members of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s family in Abuja for a special memorial programme marking one year since the late leader’s death.

The event will feature the public presentation of a tribute book, “Tributes and Condolences in Honour of Muhammadu Buhari,” as well as interfaith prayers in memory of the late Nigerian leader.

Speaking for the Central Planning Committee, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha said the programme is designed to celebrate Buhari’s enduring legacy and preserve the values he championed throughout his public life.

Mustapha disclosed that the tribute book brings together messages and reflections from world leaders, diplomats, senior government officials and political figures who knew or worked with Buhari.

He stressed that the publication is strictly a historical document and will not be sold commercially, adding that copies will instead be distributed free to preserve the memories of the former president.

The former SGF also said the ceremony would provide an opportunity for Buhari’s family, former aides, longtime associates and friends to share personal memories and reflect on his leadership and service to Nigeria.

Recalling his own relationship with Buhari, Mustapha described him as a mentor and father figure whose simplicity, discipline and commitment to public service left a lasting impact on those who worked closely with him.
