President Bola Tinubu has openly recognized the financial difficulties and security concerns affecting citizens across Nigeria as political activities ahead of the 2027 election begin to intensify.
Speaking on Sunday after securing the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Tinubu said his administration remains conscious of the growing complaints over high prices and economic pressure.
He explained that the government understands the frustration many Nigerians are experiencing and assured citizens that efforts are ongoing to ease the burden created by current economic realities.
According to the President, his administration is leading with honesty and determination while working to address the economic challenges confronting households and businesses nationwide.
Tinubu also admitted that insecurity continues to threaten some parts of the country despite military operations and security interventions already in place. He noted that more work still needs to be done to restore peace fully.
The President disclosed that his government has increased spending on intelligence gathering, surveillance systems, and modern security technology as part of efforts to tackle criminal activities and violent attacks.
He further appealed to lawmakers to urgently approve state policing, insisting that allowing states to establish police structures would help improve security responses at the grassroots level.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration would remain committed to economic recovery and national security while continuing efforts to stabilize the country ahead of the next general election.
